Skokie Indians Travel Tryouts Signup

Skokie Indians will hold tryouts for travel baseball teams from 8U through 13U levels in early August 2019.  Tryouts will be held over two weekends–one date for pitching/fielding and another date for batting.  Tryout dates will be announced in June 2018.

All players, including those on 2018 travel teams, must attend tryouts to be placed on a team.  A tryout signup form will be added to this page when registration for tryouts is open.  Players trying out for multiple travel teams are asked to notify Skokie Indians of your plans.

More information about Skokie Indians Travel Programs:

Travel play entails a meaningful commitment to the game of baseball. There is a time and cost commitment. Players that try out should have a true love for the game and a desire to continually improve and compete. Teams practice from November through July, at minimum. Different from house league, at the travel level players specialize in specific positions and spots in the batting order.

In the spring/summer, Skokie Indians travel baseball teams participate in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL). Teams compete against other travel teams from other north suburban communities. Games are throughout the week and weekend, from mid-May through the end of July. Teams also participate in tournaments. During this season, players are required, by LSFBL rules, to also play on a house league team (preferably in Skokie). Skokie Indians will do our best to minimize overlap of house league and travel seasons.  Spring travel costs run between $350 and $500, approximately.

In the fall, Skokie Indians travel baseball teams also may participate in a fall travel league, which typically runs from the third week of August to the third week of October. Fall costs run from $100-$150, approximately.

We will do our best to field teams at every age level, pending turnout.  At this time we will not be fielding travel softball teams (for more information about softball, contact Pancho Espinoza).

For 2019, 8U is defined as birthdays from 5/1/2010 to approximately 4/30/2011. To determine your child’s travel baseball level, see the Little League Age Calculator.

Our goal is to notify players/parents of 2019 travel rosters by early September.
