Bat rules

House League

Skokie Indians Mustang and Bronco spring, summer and fall house league teams play against other teams in the North Shore Youth Baseball Association (NSYBA) league.  Bat rules for this league are as follows:
  • The bat shall not be more than thirty-three (33) inches in length nor more than two and one-quarter (2¼) inches in diameter.
  • Non-wood bats shall be labeled with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less.
  • There is no “drop” requirement.
  • Batters can use bats of any common material (composite, aluminum, wood, etc…)

 

Travel Baseball

Skokie Indians spring travel baseball teams participate in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League. Bat rules for this league are as follows:

8U and 9U (Mustang) bats permitted:

  • Maximum barrel of 2 ¼” diameter
  • Maximum length of 33 inches
  • Maximum differential of -12
  • Stamped BPF of 1.15

 

10U through 12U (Mustang and Bronco) bats permitted:

  • Maximum barrel of 2 5/8” diameter
  • Maximum length of 33 inches
  • Maximum differential of -12
  • Stamped BPF of 1.15
