This weekend, Skokie Indians will hold tryouts for 2017 travel baseball teams at at Central Park, at Central Park Ave. and Lyons St. (north of Church St.):

12U-14U: this Saturday, 9/10, from 2-4pm

Makeup date for all levels: this Sunday, 9/11, from 2-3pm for 8U-11U; 3-4pm for 12U-14U

If your player tried out for 8U-11U last weekend and would like to return to demonstrate pitching skills, please attend on Sunday 9/11 at 2pm.

If your player is unable to attend any tryout dates but remains interested in playing travel baseball, please contact Richard Batista at richbatista[at]aol.com.

All players, including those on 2016 travel teams, must attend tryouts to be placed on a team.  Tryouts will include batting, pitching, fielding and running drills.

For 2017, 8U is defined as birthdays from 5/1/2008 to approximately 4/30/2009.

Travel baseball entails a greater commitment to the game, from both a time and cost perspective, and entails competitive matchups.  Travel players have a real love for the game and an interest in learning.  Teams typically hold practices during the late fall, winter and early spring before the spring season.  In the spring, Skokie travel teams play in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL) against teams from surrounding communities, and may also play in tournaments.  Travel players are additionally required to play on a spring house league team.

Our goal is to notify players/parents of 2017 travel rosters no later than the end of October.
