SILL BASEBALL

Good evening Skokie Indians Baseball and Softball Families!

My name is Richard Batista and I am the Travel Baseball Coordinator for Skokie Indians. I wanted to apologize for not providing enough information in yesterday’s post.

Thank you to those who already reached out to me today. For those of you who may be new to the league or unfamiliar with the Travel Baseball Program, the Skokie Indians is a house league that aims to provide a place for everyone to play, no matter their skill level. We offer house level of play throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall.

In addition to those programs, Skokie Indians sponsors travel teams in the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL) for ages 8-14. You can view their site at LSFBL. The program is a great opportunity for those players seeking to play baseball at a higher competitive level.

The 2016 season will begin June 1st and run through July 24th. We are working on securing indoor space so that teams can begin practicing together throughout the winter months before hitting the diamond in March/April. Players can expect to work hard together at practices in order to HAVE FUN playing the game. Players can also expect to have their team participate in one to several tournaments throughout the Spring and Summer.

Skokie Indians Baseball will be holding travel evaluations for the 2016 season and we are looking to field Teams for 8U – 14U.

8U, 9U, 10U: Friday, October 9th from 5-6:30p at Terminal Park, 9401 Kenton Ave in Skokie

Please ONLY plan to attend this evaluation if you absolutely are unable to come out on one of the earlier dates.

If you are interested in attending any of the scheduled evaluations, please contact me directly at richbatista@aol.com or 773-805-5663 (via text or call). Please provide me with your [player’s] name and age group. The age is based on whatever age you will be ON May 1, 2016.

If you are somehow unable to attend one of these scheduled evaluations, but are interested in the travel program, please contact me directly.

Please be sure to dress appropriately and bring athletic shoes/cleats, athletic supporter, bottled water, your bat (if you have one) and sunglasses (just in case, if you have them).

We will be evaluating hitting, fielding, pitching and running.

We invite and look forward to seeing all the players who love baseball and have a strong desire to compete at a higher level. This program only works with your participation. By joining and getting involved you can make a big difference in building a strong team and better players.

If you are interested in travel softball for the 2016 season, please contact me and I will be certain to get you in contact with someone involved with that program.

Thank you for your continued support of Skokie Indians!
