The Skokie Police Department is proud to be hosting a free Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth. The competition will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Laramie Park, 5251 Sherwin Ave.

Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. The grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

Reminder to players and parents of Skokie Indians, picture day is this Saturday, May 18th at Devonshire Park. All teams should have received their scheduled time. If you have not yet received your picture day time, contact your team manager to find out this information. Picture day will go on, rain or shine. It will either be outside if the weather cooperates, or in the park building if is raining.

Additionally, representatives from New York Life insurance will be present to make child ID cards for anybody interested.

Skokie Indians Little League is partnering with Northwestern University to bring you Skokie Indians Day. On May 4th, the Northwestern baseball team is facing off with Ohio State and all members of Skokie Indians Little League are invited to attend. For just $3, Skokie Indians players, friends, and family can take the field, meet with the players of Northwestern, get a free ball cap, enjoy the carnival atmosphere, and of course, enjoy the ball game.

Skokie Indians Little League will be holding its player evaluations this weekend on March 2nd and March 3rd. Player evaluations are required for AAA and Majors players and will be held at the below locations. (This is for Grades 3-6). You only need to attend one of the dates and that can be at any time during the allocated time slot. Players in the Rookie, A, AA, Pony, or Girls Softball leagues DO NOT need to attend player evaluations. A registration table with registration forms for the 2013 season will be available at both evaluation dates. We will be accepting payment by Check or Credit Card.

March 2nd – 7:00pm – 9:00pm (Niles North High School Field House)
March 3rd – 8:30pm – 10:00pm (Weber Center Skokie Park District)

In addition to our player evaluations this weekend. High School District 219 is holding a Baseball and Softball Clinic on Sunday March 3rd. The clinic is being run by High School coaches and it is for boys and girls of all skill levels that are in Grades K – 8. You can Download the Winter Clinic Flyer Here.

Player Evaluations for the upcoming Spring 2013 Season have been postponed. They were originally scheduled for Saturday February 16th and 25th. New dates will be set and all registered players will be notified at that time.
